Yesterday Bryan and I took a picnic the Santa Rosa Plateau. The combination of the rose colored sun glasses I was wearing and the fact that our entire life together is a dream made me extra sentimental. I can't believe this beauty has been in my backyard for years and I've never taken the time to go enjoy it and see it! Bryan and I hiked up the first mountain we could find off the trail path so we could find a way to look down over all of the valley. We both vowed not to look back until we'd reached the top and once we had we were almost knocked off of our feet!! The view was breathtaking. You could hear all of the grasses rustling and the trees moving and in the complete silence I thought; "This has got to be a little glimpse of heaven". Its crazy how loud God seems to screams out to us in these moments where we're surrounded by his amazing creation. Its like you get to unlock another piece of his mystery and all of the sudden everything makes sense... this crazy complex world is suddenly... simple again. I was reminded of that verse in the song How Great Thou Art that says "When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze; Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee; How great Thou art!" We sat and rested and looked out as far as we could see and we were just so thankful for our lives and our future and the way we love each other and all of the people in our lives. Thank you God! How great Thou Art.
