diy masking tape art

Dress up inexpensive vases for DIY wedding table centerpieces,  showers or your own home. And when you get tired of your design, just peel it off.

Stick tape onto a piece of wax paper and slice it into thin strips to make asterisks or bunting strings. Cut the other shapes off tape rolls with a scissors.

Sources for pretty masking tape include Happy Tape, Cutetape, andGinko Papers.

NEW endeavors.

I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or
catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit." -Dawna Markova
Harveston in Temecula is now officially our new home!!! (at least for a year). We are so excited to get out of Fallbrook for a little and have a bit more of a "family" community experience. This is our new home:

We move in June 1st so we have a lot of packing to do!
We are also getting this ladies cruiser bike (Bryan already has his) so that we can  bike around our community. Now i just have to find one of those little buggies that hook to the back for Marley to ride in, and a basket in the front for Tink!

We also volunteered at Rancho Community Church on Wednesday nights (Bryan will do sound and i will work in children's ministry) and we are excited to make that our new church home.I'm going to look around and maybe start at a salon a few days a week... Reve Salon looks fun, so we'll see.

We also added a new member to our family... meet Fiffy! Our new little beta fish. We already have another fish tank ready to get a "Nemo" fish tomorrow too. Haha. There are so many fun and exciting changes going on all around us... here's to a life filled with love, enjoyment, purpose and ADVENTURE!
P.S. Cant wait for my sister in law to birth my new neice/nephew in December... ahhh im so excited.

whats for dinner?

This is the beautiful steak i made tonight for dinner... i tried pan frying it and it turned out amazing! Here are the directions below:

photo
ONE Pour olive oil into a sauce pan. Use a paper towel to coat the entire inside of the pan with oil. Heat Skillet up to medium-high.
photo
TWO The pan is ready when you can throw a little piece of fat in and the fat starts sizzling right away. For medium rare 1-1/2"- thick steaks, cook six minutes on one side, then flip the steak and cook 6 minutes on the other side.
photo
THREE The meat should be nicely browned on both sides by now. Double check doneness by thermometer, touch, or cutting, to make sure it's done the way you want it
Here is the full page link for more info: succulent pan fried steak. Instead of making his sauce to go over the top, i topped the steak with blue cheese and bacon( a trick from good ol Emeril if i remember correctly), accompanied by french bread, salad and this pototoes au gratin recipe: creamy au gratin potatoes. Enjoy!!

Happy Mothers Day!

myspace graphic
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

This time a year ago Marley was around four months and we celebrated my first mothers day! I can honestly say I have enjoyed every single second of being a mom... through the lack of sleep,  the tantrums, and all of the little ups and downs along the way. I am still so humbled every time i look at her and realize that God entrusted her to me!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you moms,  to all of the women who play a motherly part in someone's life, to those of you who wish to be mothers and aren't just yet, and to my own amazing mother, who i love so very much!!

Weekend Fun

This weekend my family went to the KQ Ranch in Julian to camp. We stayed in a little old trailer and made ourselves right at home (it's crazy how easy that is when you consider "home" as being with the people you love).  Bryan had to leave a day early to work which was a bummer but i spent a little time with my family hiking in Mt. Laguna and eating amazing food. It was soo fun, but im glad to be back in Fallbrook!
